1991– To Date   Nchanga South Hospital                        Chingola.

Consultant General Surgeon

  • See all general surgical cases that come to the hospital through the clinics and the ward admissions from OPD.
  • Investigate the patients in order to make a working diagnosis.
  • Suggest treatment and carry out surgical operations.
  • Respond to consultations from other colleagues.
  • Carry out specialist investigations –Endoscopy and Ultra sound examinations during Endoscopy and Ultra sound Clinics.

Worked in a colorectal unit under Mr.. JAR  Smith also learned the art of Endoscopy and the use of the Ultra sonography in investigating patients with abdominal pain

  • Sat the final examination for the Master of medicine degree and passed in 1991

  • Rotated in the departments of Medicine, Surgery pediatrics and obstetrics and gynecology spending six moths in each department.
  • Duties included screening and admitting patients in the OPD, Seeing patient with consultants in the Specialist clinics and caring for patients in the wards. All under the Supervision of the various consultants.
  • Duties also included night calls
